| HDR: "High Dynamic Resolution" To attempt a simple explanation, HDR photos are created by "merging" the tonal values of two or more identical photos with different exposures using a program like Photomatix or Photoshop. The attempt is to emulate what the human eye sees (a broader range of tones than what a camera normally can capture). HDR photos can range from realistic to very surrealistic, even being described as having a "painted" look (the final look of the photo is ultimately an artistic choice - there's no right or wrong). My HDR photos were created by using Photomatix. The link below will take you to my HDR page on the web site Flickr (my username is tuthpik). I also encourage you to view other HDR photos on the page HDRextremes, also on Flickr. I hope you enjoy! |
